The Heartbleed bug has been catching headlines over the past week and even caused the CRA to shut down their web access to assess the problem. For those of you who are not familiar with the bug, the Heartbleed bug allows hackers to read the memory of the servers using OpenSSL software. This is one of the largest security threats the internet as a whole has faced to date. The worse part, it went undiscovered for approximately 2 years before being found by a Google researcher.
The good news? We are happy to say that in our architecture, as part of our company policy, we do not use openSSL software and maintain a higher level of encryption. Security is our top priority, which is why we take extra steps to increase the level of encryption. ZAP IN was not affected by the Heartbleed Bug.
